International Assistive Tool/Equipment Design Competition

Engineering practical and innovative solutions for real community needs.

About the Competition

The International Assistive Tool/Equipment Design Competition invites students and pupils to engineer practical solutions for real community needs. Participants are challenged to develop innovative, functional, and applicable assistive tools or equipment.

Design Themes

Participants may choose one of the following six design themes:

  • Food-Security Technology
  • Household-Chore Tools
  • Agriculture and Plantation Equipment
  • Maritime Applications
  • Healthcare Devices
  • Waste-Processing Tools

Entries must be submitted as a complete engineering design proposal, including 2D drawings, specifications, and technical analysis. No physical prototype is required.

The competition is open to students and pupils worldwide, either individually or in teams of 2–4 members. Participants are free to use any CAD software, and there is no registration fee.

Evaluation Stages

  1. Desk Evaluation — Creativity, Manufacturability, Functionality, and Safety.
  2. Online Presentation

Winners from 1st–6th Place will receive cash incentives and certificates.

Evaluation Process

Submissions are evaluated in two stages:

STAGE 1

Desk Evaluation

Designs will be evaluated based on Creativity, Manufacturability, Functionality, and Safety.

STAGE 2

Online Presentation

Selected participants will present their engineering design online as part of the final evaluation process.

1st – 6th Place Winners

Winners from 1st through 6th Place will receive cash incentives and certificates.
